Port has numerous strengths like its area, location, weather and new generation world class port facilities; it will soon be poised to become one of the biggest ports in the world and the Largest port in India.

National Safety Week Celebrations are currently held at the port involving employees and all concerned parties. Daily activities include programs emphasizing the safety features for each entity of the port.
   
HMM's (Hyundai Merchant Marine) direct weekly ACS Service was flagged off from KPCT on the 17th February 2017. Inauguration of the maiden vessel call by "M.V. HYUNDAI PRESTIGE", as part of ACS's Service, has written a new chapter in the EXIM trade from East Coast of India.
   
KPCT's crane productivity of 50.5 moves per hour and berth productivity of 115.91 is featured in 2016 Limca Book of Records.
   
The Rajagopuram of the Srikalahasti temple was inaugurated after pujas on 30.1.2017. A portion of the Vijayanagara era temple gopuram collapsed on May 27, 2010. Following this, the temple administration took up repair works of the gopuram through Navayuga Engineering and Construction Company.
   
The Customs office located inside the port has an new baggage scanner to serve the purpose of making cargo clearances speedier and smoother for the traders engaged in marine trade.
   
Spanish wind turbine-maker Gamesa will soon inaugurate its new plant near the port as its convenient to export products. It recently took delivery of breakbulk turbine equipment and ancillary project cargo at the port.
